After personalized advice and tips to those who show desire in French, our great ambassadors Joanna and Florent sleep on paper, all the tips of sleeping on paper can be shared with the entire HomeExchange community.

1-Photo
“Professional” photos (House Exchange)
Make beautiful photos When the weather is goodopen the blinds (but avoid violating the day), and carefully put down some dragged things (no one wants to see your panties dry in the living room, or dirty dishes in the sink). That’s Your house will be displayed anyway as if guests are welcomedwe also don’t want to do a fake ad: If you’re used to leaving a product in a bulk lattice on the sofa or shower, you can leave it in the photo!
Too retouched photos, or if you look too professional, you can also place some HomeXchangers. It puts pressure on us, so in our opinion, avoid it! We also avoided Pêle photo mixing. Even on computers, we don’t see much, so on the application, it’s a horror. Also, the number of photos is not limited, so place them the way you should!
Choose your first photo carefully
The first photo of your stay must be the most beautiful of allwill make you click on the ad.
This could be a beautiful photo of your garden, from the terrace in the sun, from the apartment on the eighth floor, from the stone facade, from the large bright living room… Choose the one you find the most beautiful! If you hesitate, please make a test change from time to time. We prefer real photos of your home than those of the Eiffel Tower or Lake Geneva, even if they are grand, they are free for you!
“Technology” Tips : This photo must be landscapeotherwise, it will be truncated on the monitor on the miniature. Furthermore, for all photos, this format is leaning towards, and they are much better for users of mobile apps.
Organize your photos as if they “tell” your home and your area
Then we really want to see everything and learn everything from the house like you and the area so we put the photos or we would lose everyone.
The ideal and easy command for visitors to “read” is:
-
First of all, internal i.e. Living room: living/dining/kitchen; room: parents and children; bathroom (you can put the parent suite that can be placed in the bedroom, then the dressing room, if the bathroom and dressing room may be neat, then go back to the children’s room); reward room (game room, laundry room, mezzanine, office, etc.)
-
Then we show the appearance : swimming pool, terrace, garden, children’s games, facade (photos of daisies are not interested:)
-
Then family and animals (Yes, we exchanged houses, but we exchanged with real families, we wanted to know them), and finally, some nice photos of your area and things you like. For these photos, you can add a little legend altogether and indicate the name of the location and the distance to the home with photo software, even with paint (almost all on our computer).
For the upstairs house, it is also great to separate the photos of the upstairs and add photos of the stairs when we change the floor. Therefore, we will have the impression of visiting the house and we will better realize its configuration.
trick : You can also change the first photo based on the exchange you are looking for. For example, if you live in Annecy, you can place photos of the pool completely, enjoy the lake view of summer communication, and photos of the snow room for winter communication.
2-Your house from A to Z
introduce
If you have information to highlight, here! For example, if you want to go to a specific period or in a given country, or if you have organized all the exchanges for the summer, you can state it here to make sure that this information is forwarded. Then, pave the way for the demonstration!
describe
There are 3 paragraphs:
– The first one, Here is your accommodation: Here, you can say that when the house dates, when you renovate, it was your husband who built her with his little hands, this is your holiday home since last year, she was quiet in a small dead end, or on the avenues that crossed the center of Paris, but behind the building, we want what you want… what you want is your long stay in!
We then need to describe the number of parts, size and configuration, the number of equipment in a fairly detailed way, and know if there is a floor. Indicates if your living room is in the transit room, if your dining room can easily accommodate a large family (maybe you can accommodate a baby chair?), if you have a fully equipped kitchen (I dream of swapping with a house where there is a great robot to cook!), the size of the bed! If you have a vegetable garden, when can you use green plants and when can you use the swimming pool
Don’t start with the principles we just need to view the photos, show us your house and tell us why you like it
– Second paragraph Talk about neighborhoods and regions: both!
We want to know if you can walk or by public transport or not, and what to do nearby (hiking departures, children’s playgrounds, bars at the bottom of the building, concert halls, concert halls, concert halls, concert halls, concert halls, concert halls, concert halls, concert halls, concert halls, concert halls, concert halls, public transport)…
We want to know too What to do in this areamore or less about 1 or 2 hours of road (specified distance!). For the city, please tell us what you like in the city (for example, I know Bordeaux, but you probably aren’t, so I’d designate “Bordeaux by train or 1 hour by car. You can take a walk on the marina, admire the water mirror, visit the historic little streets and their small little streets and their new and incredible wine cities…”).
– third, “The Word of the End” is where you can judge sentences to make other exchanges want to return to where they are at home, or a summary of your exchange of ideas, such as “We are an interchange for beginners, but expect you to share our love for our beautiful homes and make you discover the love of the area”, or whatever else you will find useful.
Personally, I say a word in the reception of people who reduce mobility and the means to enter our houses. Others will specify that they have 4 chickens and a donkey, they must be cared for during the exchange, others’ parents live next door and can be used to answer guests’ questions during the exchange… while other excellent communicators write here, they will adopt an Eco-friendly lifestyle here, and they will share their tips with you (we will discuss it again in another post!). Creative!
By the way: Play your text (I don’t like me!)! It’s great to have a good detailed description, but if you do a large sidewalk we don’t want to read it! Also be careful about spelling errors.
3-Your profile
Let’s introduce ourselves!
First, even if it seems obvious, you have to show yourself 🙂
Give your name (or even your name, even if you have placed it under the name of your profile, even if it appears “La Maison de Mireille”!), your age (or almost a bit complicated…), and then talk about yourself. What you do at work, what your passion is, what sports your children engage in, and there is a huge dream in your life. We will exchange houses, I remind you, so We want to know you!
animal
Also talk about your animals, their names and their habits (if dogs need a thousand miles between mornings, noons and evenings, we want to know), specify whether they travel with you, stay at home, or whether they are on vacation with Mamie during the exchange.
If you don’t have one (even if there is one, add a little word to say if you want to welcome animals at home, if you want to take care of your owner’s animal when you’re at home.
Your communication
Finally, you can also tell us about your last exchange, quote where you have been and specify what you like!
photo
…Pick a beautiful profile photo, ideally a photo of your family! Have you seen it? Even if you put a rectangular photo, it will be displayed in a circle, so if you want to be seen, choose a place with the head roughly in the middle…
4-The rest!
Update your calendar
Check it out Your calendar is the latest And you have at least a few open dates, especially if you check the option “I don’t want to contact during times when I can’t get it”. Go back in the search results, of course you have to receive the exchange request!
Add a favorite destination
Add your favorite destinations (If you are open to all destinations, then sorting out is better than blank. It will allow you to find your members using reverse search to find you! Then…you have a dream destination, right?)
Answer all messages
Monitor your responsiveness: If marked as “average” or “bad”, your accommodation will be lowered in search results for other members and you may receive fewer exchange requests.
For example, if you live in the heart of London, you may need too much: At the time, if not the most friendly, I would recommend using an automatic response to answer.
Think about translation
Have you seen it? The website is international! We use a super automatic translator so that all the exchangers in the world can see your ad and understand it. So avoid abbreviations and expressions that are from your region or the translation won’t work. This is another good reason to correct your mistake!
I’m looking for the next exchange
