Since 2017, MANGO has come under scrutiny for allegedly copying a series of iconic CELINE designs. Notably, high-profile publications including an article in The Independent have highlighted the striking similarities between a £50 Mango bag and a £2,500 Céline bag.

The court clearly declared that MANGO imitated CELINE’s products shortly after the show, undeniably exploiting CELINE’s creativity and reputation.

On November 10, 2023, a major development was that the Paris Court of Appeal ruled in favor of CELINE on the grounds of parasitic behavior. MANGO was ordered to pay 2 million euros in compensation for the economic and emotional losses caused by CELINE.
